Marquette, MI – June 24, 2021 – The City of Ishpeming is ending COVID-19 support programs ordered by the State of Michigan that had allowed public water service to continue with no shut-offs, removed late fees and made other accommodations for residents financially impacted by the pandemic.
Cugini said the ban on shut-offs was lifted at the end of March by the state, but Ishpeming has continued with allowances. They are, however, coming to an end as the state is beginning to emerge from the pandemic.
He added that there are options available for residents impacted by these changes, and the best way to work out a solution is to contact him direct at Ishpeming City Hall.
