Kids Cove Playground Redesign Public Meetings Coming Next Week In Marquette

Kids Cove Playground in Marquette’s Mattson Lower Harbor Park.

Marquette, MIMay 14, 2021 – An updating of the popular Kids Cove Playground in Marquette is in the design phase, and the call is out for public input.

Nheena Weyer Ittner, Chair of the Marquette Playgrounds for All Committee, spoke about a series of public meetings coming next week in Marquette with Mark & Walt in the Morning today.

She explained some of the history of the park and outlined the effort to hear from all interested people as the park is redesigned.

The schedule of the upcoming sessions are as follows:

Monday: May 17, 12:30pm – 2:30 pm – Open to the Public on-site at Kids Cove to meet with the design team, the Playgrounds for All Committee and City staff.

Monday: May 17, 5:30pm – 7:30pm Open to the Public
Russell Arena at Lakeview Arena limited to 100 people
Inclusive Design Presentation for Kids Cove.  It can be joined via Zoom.

Tuesday: May 18, two sessions Open to the Public

The session at 11:30pm – 1:30pm is a Drop–in Design Day workshop is in-person only at Russell Arena, Lakeview Arena limited to 100 people.

The session taking place 5:30pm – 7:30pm is and Interactive Design Presentation & Workshop for Kids Cove at Russell Arena at Lakeview Arena limited to 100 people.  Accessible via Zoom.
