Marquette, MIMay 11, 2021 – Efforts to repair and restore the historic Vista Theater are getting going once again this spring.

The Vista’s Rusty Bowers spoke about the latest developments with repairing the roof and the rest of the theater after last year’s roof collapse with Mark & Walt in the Morning today.

Bowers says the structure weathered the winter quite well, and plans are drawn up to build a new roof as soon as finances are secured.

He added that there is some pending corporate support that will help greatly with the effort, along with the continuing processing of thousands of can and bottle returnables donated from the community.

Bowers said that there are currently three vacancies on the theater’s Board of Directors, and anyone interested in joining the board, or becoming a supporting member of the Vista, can find out more at their website.
