Marquette, MIDecember 3, 2020 – Liana Pepin, Marquette County 4-H Educator with Michigan State University Extension, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about the agency’s response to a plan by the Marquette County Board to cut their funding for the upcoming year.

The county’s plan would cut funding by $11,100 compared to what they received this year, which Pepin says would impact 4-H and several other programs in the Marquette County that are provided by MSU Extension.

Pepin said the county funds a specific amount for the 4-H position and the other programs through a base assessment amount which is set according to census information for the county.

She added that they are asking individuals who have benefitted from MSU Extension services to contact the county board by email, letter, phone call and/or attendance at the next board meeting on December 15th.
