Marquette, MI November 10, 2020 – The U.P. Regional Blood Center in Marquette has put out an urgent call for healthy people to donate blood to restock dropping supplies. Rachel Heath, Blood Collection Coordinator at the UPRBC, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning to encourage all who can to give the gift of life.

Heath explained that recently cancelled blood drives and coronavirus concerns in the public have sharply curtailed blood donations.

She added that guidelines for prospective donors include being healthy with no fever or other signs of illness.

Heath said the U.P. Regional Blood center has donation centers in Hancock, Escanaba, Iron Mountain and Marquette, and you can call the Marquette center at (906) 449-1450 to set up an appointment.
