Marquette, MI – October 29, 2020 – Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about the upcoming election and how the state is ready for the record numbers expected to turn out.
Benson talked about voters who are using absentee ballots and what they need to consider at this time. She said they should not to rely on the U.S. Postal Service to deliver absentee ballots with less than one week before Election Day.
Those with absentee ballots should sign the back of the envelope and hand-deliver it to their city or township clerk’s office or ballot drop box as soon as possible.
Benson added that voters who haven’t yet received their ballot should go to their clerk’s office to request it in person.
She also shared important updates for those who are planning to vote in person at their regular polling places on election day.
Benson said anyone who has questions about their polling locations, what’s on their ballot or any other election-related matters in Michigan can visit michigan.gov/vote.
