Ishpeming, MichiganAugust 3, 2019 – Marilyn Andrew, president of the Friends of the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library came on the 8th Day to remind the public of their Book Sale August 15th-17th. Each day of the sale will introduce more money-saving deals, ending with a bag sale.

The Friends are active in fundraising and present many special programs of cultural interest. To Donate  of gently used books for all ages go to the library Front Desk. If you would like to donate more than you can carry in one trip into the building please call ahead.

Points Made during Interview:

  • Book sales 3 times a year
  • Main focus is children’s books
  • Summer reading program
  • The Friends have also helped buy furniture for Library
  • Historic Calendar 2020 just $6
  • Christmas Historic Ornaments
  • Don’t really more donations needed at the moment
  • Daily Prices during book sales:

1st Day: Thursday 5p-7p – $1 Hardcover books; Paperbacks: $0.50

2nd Day: Friday: 9a-5p – $1 Hardcover books; Paperbacks: $0.50

3rd Day: Saturday: Until Noon – $0.50 Hardcover books; Paperbacks: $0.25;
After 12:00p – $3/bag – you pick what to put in bag!

The Group does not accept any of the following donations:

  • Reader’s Digest Condensed books
  • Encyclopedia sets or outdated reference materials
  • Books that are torn, stained, dirty, dusty, or water damaged
  • Books without covers or dust jackets
  • Paperbacks with severely creased spines

The Friends of the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:00pm March-June and September-December in the Ray Leverton Community Room.  Want to join?  Simply complete a membership form and return it, with your $5.00 yearly membership fee, at the next Friends of the Library meeting.
