Lansing, MichiganDecember 8, 2018 – Matt Miner, spokesperson for the Great Lakes Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, came on the 8th Day to talk about how the change to the Michigan Constitution may change the economics and business in the Great Lakes area.  It is early on, but Members of the cannabis and hemp industry in Michigan announced the formation of the Great Lakes Cannabis Chamber of Commerce.

  • Recreational Recreational Marijuana is Legal In Michigan as of December 6th
  • What is Allowed Law, such as how much Weed Can One Posses in their home or on their person
  • It is Legal for anyone over 21 years old to grow, consume, and possess marijuana, but not purchase or sell it
  • It is illegal to consume marijuana in public
  • Federal Law Makes Marijuana Illegal and is that federal law is not over-ridden by the new State Changes
  • Marijuana isn’t commercially available to buy until Michigan regulators create rules and regulations for the recreational market, just as the processed happened with Medical Marijuana.
  • Employers can still fire you for smoking/using it

The Great Lakes Cannabis Chamber of Commerce serves as the heart of the industry, focusing on the issues that concern the business of cannabis and hemp, and working to improve the business conditions surrounding the industry.

“Michigan is embarking on a new era of regulated cannabis and the industry must step forward to lead the charge for safety, compliance and professional standards,” said Ron Makino of 1 1st Quality Medz.

“As the industry in Michigan advances, it needs an organization to promote sound public policy and business practices. The GLCCOC will accomplish that,” said Chad McCormick of Green Industry Construction Services.
