Marquette, MINovember 17th, 2017 – To celebrate the Christmas season, two performances of the Nutcracker Ballet will be held at the Kaufman Auditorium on Saturday, December 2nd with one starting at 1:00pm and the second at 7:00pm.  Camilla Mingay joined Todd Pazz on The 8th Day to talk about the performances.

For the many who aren’t aware, the Nutcracker Ballet centers around a little girl named Clara who is given a nutcracker doll by her magical godmother.  The doll is broken by Clara’s sister, and when the godmother fixes the nutcracker, it comes to life!  The nutcracker and Clara go on to have many adventures together, fighting with the other toys and dancing around with sugarplum fairies.

This will be the 8th consecutive year that the Nutcracker Ballet will be performed at Kaufman Auditorium.  This year will be different from previous years as it has become a community-wide production, involving people from many different studios and casting actors and actresses of all ages.  There will be two actresses performing the role of Clara, with the younger version being played by Autumn Whitman and the older version being played by Skyler Saavala.  The event promises to be a crowd-pleaser, and if you’d like to be a part of that crowd, come on down to the Kaufman Auditorium on Saturday, December 2nd and see the Nutcracker Ballet.
