Marquette, MI – December 7th, 2015 – I’ve been driving my little, fully converted, plug-in electric Chevy S10 around Marquette for almost 3 months now. So, with a little first-hand experience under my belt, I talked with Todd Paz on The 8th Day about how I ended up with an electric car. We even called in a special guest (spoiler alert – it’s my dad) to talk about the process of converting a car like this.
Driving the car feels pretty normal for me. In fact, the hardest part about it was learning to drive with a manual transmission. The best part? My gas station is my garage. When I’m done driving around for the day, I pull in to the garage and plug in. The next morning, I have a full charge and am ready to go!
This was the first electric vehicle I had ever seen up close. So, I was shocked by a few things – especially when I looked under the hood. Now, I’m not a mechanic, or particularly good with cars, but even I can’t miss the huge whole where the engine used to be. I could probably fit inside!
Have you ever driven an electric car? What did you think? If you have any questions about the vehicle or the conversion process, feel free to contact me!
