Ron Paul Was My Biggest Surprise In The Recent Primary

January 12, 2011 – I just received this chart. Mit Romney is #1. Ron Paul is doing very well and Newt poorly. Ron Paul seems to be the biggest surprise to me.

Results for New Hampshire Republican Primary (U.S. Presidential Primary)
Jan 10, 2012 (100% of precincts reporting)
Mitt Romney 97,532 39.3%
Ron Paul 56,848 22.9%
Jon Huntsman 41,945 16.9%
Newt Gingrich 23,411 9.4%
Rick Santorum 23,362 9.4%

Some thoughts on Ron Paul…

I perceive his economy concept is more on the states and simpler. The beauty of Ron’s less Federal Government system is that Michigan could try something and see if it works. If it does keep doing it. Because what works in Wisconsin might not work in Michigan, but maybe in Illinois. So Paul offers states better opportunities by keeping the federal government from sticking their nose in all places.

I also like the simpler tax concepts he has.
I like his thoughts on the constitution.
I like his basic get in and get out military strategy.

Ron Paul seems odd to me on foreign policy. Ron by saying, “As long as they haven’t hurt us yet, let’s ignore them.” This is too laid back for me. It seems better to be more offensive, or better informed, or more ready to defend. This includes checking things out around the nations to perceive possible threats and having the military staffed and ready. In my mind, a strong defense has always been the best defense.

So do you like Ron Paul? Or who is your favorite?
