Parade Crowd!

Negaunee, MI July 9, 2016 — Today, Iron Street was packed with people celebrating Pioneer Days in Negaunee with a parade! There was no shortage of floats, marching groups and exciting sounds at this event. This was, personally, my first Pioneer Days Parade, and now I can’t wait for next year. All of the pride and hard work shown by all of the groups in the parade, as well as the excitement seen from the crowd, made this parade a great celebration!

We at Great Lakes Radio were also very glad to be a part of all the excitement! Walt and Mike from the Sunny Morning Show started our line up in the flashy Sunny.fm van and behind them was Joe Duckworth manning the WRUP van. Following behind the WRUP van was Adam Carpenter from the Outdoor Show with Todd Noordyk in a stylish Kawasaki Mule from Zambon’s in Marquette. Completing our crew was Eric Scott and Lane Dawson in the 103 FXD box truck!

A favorite float of mine was The BoyScouts of America Float. Another parade favorite was the Vista Theatre Float.

There was also a picnic at Teal Lake after the parade with vendors and a Firemen’s Competition!

The cost of the Pioneer Days celebration is pretty high, and the Negaunee Irontown Association can always use more help and support to make the Pioneer Days celebration just as great as, if not better than, it has been all these years. If you would like to lend your helping hand or donate to the Pioneer Days or the Fireworks on Teal Lake for next year, take a look at this information:
