NEGAUNEE, MI – August 11, 2014 –It’s that time of year again Miner fans! Summer is winding down, school is about to start up, and Negaunee Miners football is returning for yet another year! Today marked the day that Two-A-Days begun for the Maize & Blue.
Coach Jacobson & Co. will surely be preparing their players for the rigorous MPC schedule that every Miner, past and present, has experienced. Coming off of a 10-2 season, the Miners will look to keep their success up. They’ll have to do it without some exceptional athletes though as Negaunee lost a lot of seniors from last year’s campaign. Negaunee will be returning their starting Quarterback Ryan Syrjala who really came into his own throughout his junior season.
Negaunee is always capable of having a great season. While this may be some self-bragging, my team back in 2008 (a team where I contributed very little) was projected to go 3-6 and miss the playoffs. That team ended up going 10-2. So you can always expect Coach Paul Jacobson to get his team ready!
Negaunee’s first game will be on Friday, August 29th @ Manistique at 7:30pm.
We here at Great Lakes Radio & SunnyFM are honored to be able to be the official radio station of the Negaunee Miners. We’d also like to thank those businesses who support the Miners through thick & thin!
