Update: At about 6PM police surrounded the house and arrested the suspect identified as 28-year-old Kirk Michael Schultz of Ishpeming. Schultz was wanted for an armed robbery about a month ago in the city of Marquette.

Ishpeming Township, MI – May 12, 2016 – Earlier in this afternoon Ishpeming City Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office surrounded a home on the corner of Prairie Avenue and Elm Street. The event took place around 3:30 pm though very little is known about the situation.
A former coworker of ours witnessed the incident and sent us photos. He heard police were instructing the unknown subject inside the house to come out with their hands up. At least one office had his weapon drawn at this time.
