Overview of active “U.P.” teams: NCAA D-I Men’s Bball: The state of Michigan went from hoping for a UofM-MSU national championship game, to neither team seeing the Final-4 . NHL: The Red Wings are in 7th place but only three points ahead of 9th in the East, while Chicago has clinched a playoff berth in the West . NBA: The Bulls are right in the thick of things in the Eastern Conference and will try to make some noise in the playoffs once again. The Pistons need a miracle to make the playoffs, so they’re pretty much done, and the Bucks have been tanking the entire season… so they’re succeeding? MLB: Yeah… it’s back (Cue up ‘Halleluja’ chorus) The Tigers have World Series hopes, the Brewers have playoff hopes, and the Cubs… well they’re the Cubs.
