Last weekend, I went to Chicago to visit my sister and had a FANTASTIC, interesting, busy, different, beautiful weekend in the city…
Until our car was broken into and towed–the day we were supposed to leave.
Needless to say, the police reports, expense, 2-day delay of our departure, and the general stress and red tape cast a certain shadow on the happy events of the weekend.
At least our rotten luck didn’t involve any cadaver dogs…
On the heels of Chicago’s farewell “gift” to us, I had high hopes for this weekend: Camping with friends on Grand Island!
Sunsets and sunrises… Instant coffee cooked over the campfire in the damp morning… the fresh yawning lake horizon… nips of Canadian whiskey around the campfire under the stars…good friends, adventures…and smelling like a bunch of goats by the end…
The best kind of weekend a girl could ask for.
But the world is interfering with my perfect vision: it’s a Monsoon out there right now! With little promise of letting up, now I am in a conundrum.
To camp in the rain or not to camp in the rain?? Check in for updates next week.
