Negaunee, MI – July 9, 2022 – Happy Pioneer Day Saturday! The parade on Saturday was a great way to start the last day of the week-long festivities. The weather couldn’t be more perfect, and there was more than even candy for everyone!

This week included the annual alumni softball tournament at Lacombe Field, the Pioneer Princess Pageant, and many community-hosted events. The weather on Saturday was perfect for a parade and a day of even more fun activities including a Firefighters tournament, Negaunee Elks open house and cookout, class reunions, and more.

The parade as usual was no small feat, with floats featuring class reunions, local and state politicians, and local businesses including our friends at Northland Lawn, Sport & Equipment. There were also the Negaunee City and high school bands, as well as an NMU Commercial Driving School semi truck! Local police and fire vehicles were out on display with sirens blaring. There were even baby goats and bunnies, and horses! Don’t forget our very own Mark & Dawn Evans and Walt Lindala with the Sunny Mobile!

Another summer, another Pioneer Days parade, and this one did not disappoint!
