Everywhere I go in Ireland, I find reminders of the past. The history of Ireland is vast and interesting. The people are deeply religious and their faith has brought them through many troubled times. Examples of their faith, both past and present, are everywhere.’
Although it was a rainy day, I had to stop at Quinn Abbey to take a few pictures of the marvelous architecture and its stunning silhouette against the gray sky.
Thousands prayed here and many are buried here. I felt a reverence and a sense of peace as I walked the grounds. The spirits of those who lived and worshiped here remains. I felt the connection with my ancestors and am humbled by their strength to keep the faith throughout the centuries. May they rest in peace.
