1st ever Wolf’s Head Film Festival | Orpheum Theatre Oct. 24-25

109

The first-ever Wolf’s Head Film Festival, happening October 24–25, 2025, is coming to the Keweenaw at the Orpheum Theater in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Founded and hosted by Keweenaw-based filmmakers Amanda and Daena Makela of 2nd Sandbar Productions, Wolf’s Head is a brand-new endeavor to curate cinema culture in the north—spotlighting horror, cult classics, and films that rarely make it to the silver screen in this region.

This year’s lineup features:

The Blair Witch Project (1999) — the infamous cult classic that reshaped horror.

Stolen Kingdom (2025) — a true-crime documentary tracing 30 years of misdeeds and debauchery at Walt Disney World Resort, culminating in the jaw-dropping theft of nearly half a million dollars’ worth of props. Already an audience favorite at festivals nationwide, it screens at Wolf’s Head in its exclusive Michigan premiere.

Wolf’s Head lands at the eerie cusp of fall’s end, when the Keweenaw grows quiet, the air sharpens, and history seems to whisper from the woods and mines—an atmosphere tailor-made for strange cinema.
