MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – UPAWS, the animal shelter for Marquette County is featuring a promotion entitled “Back in Black” this month.
UPAWS Community Relations Chair Ann Brownell stopped in this morning at the Great Lakes Radio studios to discuss this promotion, which is intended to encourage the adoption of black dogs and cats.
According to Brownell, black dogs and cats are usually the most difficult to get adopted for various reasons, and the “Back in Black” effort is working to change that.
For the month, all black dogs adopted from UPAWS will have their adoption fees cut in half and all black cats will have their adoption fees waived.
