Marquette, MI – (10/31/19) – Marquette Police Captain Mike Laurila joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about keeping safe for Halloween and to remind everyone of the Winter Overnight Parking Ban going into effect in Marquette.
Laurila said the Marquette City Commission formalized trick-or-treating hours for the City of Marquette from 4:00pm to 7:00pm for the first time ever this week. He encouraged all drivers on their evening commutes to make sure they pay close attention to the kids who will be out on the streets. He also said those adults who are going out to Halloween parties to make they don’t drink and drive.
He also reminded residents and visitors that the city’s overnight winter parking ban goes into effect tomorrow, November 1st. It prohibits parking on city streets between the hours of 1:00am and 6:00am, and a violation is a $75.00 fine. Parking in front yards is also not allowed without special permission.
