Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – On our latest Active Physical Therapy update, we heard from Kristy Kerkala about the conditions commonly referred to as tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow.
Kerkala, Physical Therapist at the Ishpeming Clinic for Active Physical Therapy, joined the Sunny Morning Show this week to explain the differences of the two, and more.
Kerkala explained that pain from tennis elbow usually radiates from the outside of the elbow, while golfer’s elbow is felt with pain on the inside of the elbow.
She explained that one doesn’t have to play these sports at all to get the conditions, but the common terms of tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow are used to identify them.
Kerkala also shared some good tips on how to prevent the injuries when you are engaging in sports or other activities that may inflame those particular areas, and how an effective physical therapy regimen can work to aid in recovery from these injuries.
