Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The new UP Health System-Marquette hospital is almost ready to open.
Victor Harrington, UPHS Regional Marketing Director, joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about the latest details of this highly-anticipated event.
Harrington explained that the new facility is very busy at this time as final construction is underway and the moving in of staff and equipment has begun.
He said the official ribbon-cutting has been set for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5th, and the community open house will be held a short time after that.
Harrington said one of the big things that will also be happening soon will be the transfer of patients from the existing hospital to new facility, and that is planned to happen on a Sunday, as it will take all day to move the patients into their new rooms.
