Marquette, MI – November 27, 2018 – With Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday all so close together, it’s easy to get caught up in the consumerism of the holiday season. Thrivent Financial and St. Vincent DePaul of Marquette did their part to give back to the community this past Tuesday by inviting people to stop by the store and donate to those in need. Sunny FM’s own Joe Duckworth was live on the air telling people about the event.
Joe said that since Giving Tuesday began around six years ago, it has been a huge success in the community. As an incentive to head down and donate, St. Vincent DePaul in Marquette offered a 20% coupon to anyone who gave $5 or more. On top of that, Thrivent Financial matched all donations 2 to 1, ensuring another very successful Giving Tuesday.
