Marquette, MI – April 16th, 2016 – The annual Fundraising Banquet for the Fred Waara chapter of Trout Unlimited is being held this Saturday, April 23rd. Todd Paz caught up with Bob Jensen, the President and Education Chairperson of the FWTUC to discuss the event.
It’s the 29th edition of this annual event, and the evening is going to be jam packed with several different auctions, a 50/50 and card raffle, and even bucket draws! Prizes this year include guided fishing trips, a custom wine rack with vintage wines, original art, and many others!
Proceeds from this year’s event will go to many projects, but mainly the Yellow Dog River Community Forest Project. The YDRCFP will support the purchase of 700 acres of woodland, which would keep five miles of the river open to the public and protected from development and damage.
Trout Unlimited also supports a number of other projects with their annual fundraiser. Bob discussed the Upper Peninsula’s Salmon in the Classroom Project, fly tying classes, and they even talked about the upcoming kids’ trout fishing camp!
