
Marquette, Michigan – Bruce Sarjeant’s Saturday interview on the 8th Day focused on the Native Voices Series / Exhibit that kicks off today with a Opening Event Panel Discussion from 4-5:30pm in Jamrich Hall 1322 with a reception to follow in the Lydia M. Olson Library of Northern Michigan University. Mr. Sarjeant also discussed the community mission that the library serves as well as services available to the public and alumni of NMU.
Native Voices, is an interactive exhibition available at Lydia M. Olson Library during normal business hours to provide an an overview to students and the public library about native peoples’ concepts of health and illness
This exhibition “examines concepts of health and medicine among contemporary American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians and features interviews with more than one hundred tribal leaders, healers, physicians, educators, and others.”
