Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)It’s a busy week ahead at the State Capitol.

At least two legislative committees meet to address the problem of low lake levels, and the need to step up dredging not only for now, but for the future.  Also, proposal that if approved would be called “Caylee Anthony’s Law” would require a parent or caregiver of a minor to immediately report to police the death of the minor or if the child is missing. Not doing so would be a felony offense under the proposal which is in a legislative committee this week.

The idea of a sales tax increase could be worked into the effort to bring in more road and bridge funding, but that would require a statewide vote and the legislature must approve the proposal before the end of this week.

And the State Senate this week could put the final touches on legislation allowing Blue Cross/Blue Shield to convert to a mutual insurance company.
