MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Negaunee Post responded to a two-vehicle crash on US-41 yesterday afternoon in Marquette Township.
The accident happened just after 4 p.m. near Northwoods Drive when a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by 26-year-old James Lemmond of Ishpeming pulled out onto the highway from a car dealership. He crossed into the path of an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet Blazer driven by 59-year-old Christine Mattfolk of Dollar Bay.
Lemmond and Mattfolk were both taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Lemmond was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
