Marquette, MI – September 29, 2026 – The Marquette City Commission has approved the budget for the City of Marquette for next year.
At their regular meeting last night, Commissioners heard an overview of the $26.8 million proposed General Fund budget for Fiscal Year 2027.
Kovacs explained that the general fund budget is part of an overall city-wide budget for next year of approximately $97 million.
Following a public hearing at last night’s meeting where no residents came forward to speak on the proposal, the Commission voted with a 7-0 unanimous decision to approve the spending plan.
