
Marquette, MI – May 6, 2026 – Voters in the Marquette Area Public School district passed a bond proposal in yesterday’s May 5th special election to generate just under $60 million for the district to make facility infrastructure updates.
The vote passed on a final tally of 3,628 YES to 3,116 NO.
Sedgwick thanked the community for their support and talked about what happens next with the projects that were outlined in the ballot proposal.
He reminded residents that all information related to the proposal and the anticipated timelines for work to begin can be found on the district website at www.mapsnet.org.
