Marquette, MI – May 5, 2026 – The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority’s Trail Administrator, Bob Hendrickson, stopped in at the Sunny 101.9 studios today with an update on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail and how it has weathered this past winter’s extreme conditions.
Hendrickson shared the update with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Hendrickson said the trail took some hits from heavy snow, a quick meltoff and flooding in some areas, but it actually does not seem as bad as it could have been.
He reminded users of the trail that much of it still has snow in many areas and to use caution if anyone ventures out on it over the next week or so.
