Marquette, MI – April 8, 2026 – The Northern Michigan University Department of Theatre & Dance is presenting the musical “9 to 5” this week and next on campus.
Ludwig said the show is a musical interpretation of the 1980 comedy film “9 to 5” that starred Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. She explained that the movie was adapted into a musical several years ago with a score featuring songs penned by Parton.
Ludwig added that while the presentation of the story, set in the late ’70s/early ’80s, may seem somewhat dated on some levels, the story still resonates with a contemporary audience.
The run starts this Thursday evening, and tickets can be purchased at nmu.universitytickets.com.
