Marquette, MI – March 23, 2026 – Republican Justin Michal, candidate for the 1st District U.S. House of Representatives, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today with a campaign update. Michal talked about some of the key points of his campaign to challenge Republican incumbent Congressman Jack Bergman for the seat.

He also explained that he’s continuing to hear about issues from voters across the region as he campaigns across the district, which covers the entire U.P. and a portion of northern Lower Michigan.
Michal said one of the top conversations with residents is the lack of contact they are currently having with Representative Bergman. He also talked about the issue of data centers possibly being built in areas of the 1st Congressional district.
