Marquette, MIFebruary 24, 2026 – Record crowds attended the UP200 opening ceremonies earlier this month in Marquette. According to research by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, about 10,700 people came out for the start of the race in the downtown area on February 13th.

Michael Bradford with the DDA spoke about those numbers and more with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Bradford said that is over 2,000 more people than last year’s estimated attendance, and was, by far, the largest attendance they have seen for the event.

He also explained that the D-D-A has been using software from Placer.ai over the last year to get more data about crowd sizes at downtown events like the UP200, Blueberry Festival and Farmers Markets.
