Marquette, MI – October 22, 2025 – On our latest Northern Michigan University Wildcat Wednesday, we learned more about The Rural Leadership Fellowship Program.
Nyberg explained that the program is a paid and scholarship-supported applied learning experience for students interested in rural economic development and public sector careers.
He said the program has run for the last few years and was created in partnership with InvestUP, a non-profit economic development organization and is funded by a rural capacity-building investment supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Nyberg shared that the program is focused on developing graduate students, but undergrads can apply and may be selected on a case-by-case basis.
