Marquette, MI – September 19, 2025 – Project: Keep Kids Warm, an effort that has put hundreds of western Marquette County kids into new winter jackets, snow pants, boots and other winter gear, is back for it’s 16th year.
Project Coordinator Dick Derby spoke about this year’s effort with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Derby said the effort by Wesley United Methodist Church is seeking financial contributions to help fund the purchase of items for the families in need. The financial support allows the group to secure winter clothing in large quantities and at discounted prices from area retailers.
He explained that area schools and service organizations submit requests on behalf of the kids and orders are then filled.
Derby said financial donations can be made out to Wesley United Methodist Church (Indicate KKW on your check) and mailed to:
Wesley United Methodist Church – P.O. Box 342 Ishpeming, MI 49849
He added that the effort has now added an online giving portal, and that can be accessed HERE.
