Marquette, MI – February 24, 2025 – Marquette County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7:00am today with very icy conditions. Many side roads, parking lots and sidewalks are glazed over with ice that will be lifting as temperatures rise during the morning.
As a result, all Marquette area schools are closed, including Father Marquette Academy and the North Star Montessori Academy. That includes Marquette Head Start.
Also closed are:
Negaunee, Ishpeming and Gwinn Public Schools and their Head start programs.
Powell Township Schools are closed today as well.
Also to the west, all schools in Baraga, Houghton and Keweenaw counties are closed today, including the Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College.
