Marquette, MI – December 11, 2024 – On our latest Northern Michigan University Wildcat Wednesday, we talked about the mid-year commencement that’s coming up this Saturday.
NMU Chief Marketing Officer Derek Hall spoke about the ceremony with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Hall said there are 557 students graduating this semester and 400 are walking in the ceremony, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Superior Dome on campus.
He added that Dr. Matthew Jennings, associate professor of Clinical Sciences, has been selected by students to deliver the faculty keynote speech, while Suzanna Guinn of Marquette will deliver the student commencement address.
1977 NMU graduate Frida Waara will also be receiving an honorary Doctor of Business degree.
Hall said the ceremony will be streamed at nmu.edu/commencement and broadcast live on WNMU-TV.
