Marquette, MIDecember 7, 2023 – Project Keep Kids Warm is continuing to provide winter clothing to families in need in western Marquette County, but the need is bigger than ever this year.

Project Coordinator Dick Derby shared and update today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Derby said response to the program, which serves families in the Ishpeming, Negaunee, and Republic area, has grown considerably this year and there is a need for some additional fundraising.

He encouraged people to make a financial donation to allow the the group to meet an increased need for winter clothing.

Derby explained that this year’s requests are up, and financial support will go directly to the purchase of large quantities of kid’s winter clothes at discounted prices from area retailers.

Derby said to make donations out to Wesley United Methodist Church and mail them to P.O. Box 342 Ishpeming, MI 49849.

One hundred percent of the funds will be used to purchase new winter items.
