Marquette, MI – December 8, 2022 – On our latest Upper Peninsula Health Plan Update, we heard more about the UPHP Transportation benefit for non-emergent medical transportation for all UPHP Medicaid members.
Gwinn explained that UPHP provides transportation help to UPHP covered medical appointments and services such as routine care, prescriptions, durable medical equipment pick up, outpatient hospital visits, and more.
She also talked about the UPHP volunteer driver network, which serves the Upper Peninsula to make sure our members get the medical care they need given the rural nature of our region.
Gwinn also talked about community members becoming one of the drivers. She said anyone interested in doing so should contact UPHP Transportation at 1-800-835-2556 and follow the transportation volunteer driver prompts for questions or to request an application packet.
