Marquette, MI – September 23, 2022 – WNMU-TV is hosting an expert town hall meeting panel discussion next week on suicide awareness and prevention in Upper Michigan.
Doan said the“Facing Suicide Town Hall” will be held Tuesday, September 27th at 7:00 p.m. at NMU’s Northern Center.
Thomson explained how the evening’s session came to be through a special grant and that the event will be held in person at the Northern Center and will also be available to stream online.
Thomson said the public event is inspired by the PBS documentary “Facing Suicide” which is premiering this month.
Doan said the panel will feature area mental health professionals who will discuss sections of the film, including how to identify warning signs, and spotlight local organizations and resources that provide help and hope.
Thomson shared information about some special supplemental programing that be aired on WNMU-TV.
