MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Economic Development Consultant Harley Methfessel is visiting the City of Marquette this week to assist the city government with efforts to shape the future approaches to economic development.
Methfessel has visited the area before under the same context and is using this current visit to meet with NMU officials and other business and community representatives to develop a report of his findings to the Marquette City Commission and executive staff.
Methfessel, who is casually known as “Bucky”, joined Marquette City Manager Bill Vajda this morning for a chat with News Director Walt Lindala about some of the key factors he will be looking to observe while in the area to formulate his recommendations.
He outlined a few important concepts the City of Marquette and surrounding communities need to adhere to in order to be successful in developing a long-term economically viable future that will keep the region strong for several generations.
