MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Due to elevated levels of bacteria, specifically E.Coli, at South Beach in Marquette, the beach will be closed for the rest of the season.
As a precautionary measure, The City of Marquette says no recreational swimming will be permitted at the beach. All other beaches in the city of Marquette will remain open.
City officials say the latest readings of levels at the beach found a number of 341. The safe number is listed at 300.
