Marquette, MI – May 7, 2021 – The Center for Native American Studies at Northern Michigan University is sharing the story of a multi-tiered collaborative project with a focus on arts and cultural education and wellness.
Lindala says the Great Lakes Indigenous Art, Education, and Healing project was a partnership with the Center, the NMU School of Art and Design and Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College and was funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
She explained the project educated students on several levels, including culturally, artistically and economically.
Lindala says the CNAS will soon unveil an online exhibition of the creative works from the project and a link will be posted at the NMU Center for Native American studies website next week.
