Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer

Lansing, MI – April 9, 2021 – Today Governer Whitmer held another press conference to discuss Michigan’s ongoing vaccination efforts and the recent rise in cases and the other coronavirus varients. The governor was of course joined by Dr. Khaldun. Take a listen to the entire conference below, or keep reading for quick highlights on the conference.

Listen:

Governor Whitmer started by updating on the fact that nearly 40% of Michigan is vaccinated and vaccine distribution is spreading up.  That’s about 5 million doses in less than four months.

The Governor goes on to say the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine is critical for younger Michiganders and those who might have trouble coming back in for a second shot.

She goes on to urge Michiganders to get vaccinated to stop the rise in cases and the surge in the different coronavirus varients.  She also asks everyone to stop dining indoors for two weeks, and instead sit in outdoor dining areas or order take out or delivery.
