It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week In Michigan And Time To Prepare For A Change In Seasons

Marquette, MI – March 24, 2021 – This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan and the State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division is holding a voluntary statewide tornado drill this afternoon.

Matt Zika with the National Weather Service Office in Negaunee Township spoke about the drill and the rest of the week with Mark & Walt in the Morning today.

Zika said the drill is planned for 1:00 p.m., eastern time, and officials say it’s a good reminder for communities and residents to discuss their emergency plans.

During the drill, residents in participating communities will receive alerts on NOAA Weather Radios and media outlets.
