Governor Whitmer Gave Her Third State of the State Address Today

Lansing, MI – January 27, 2021 – Governor Whitmer gave her third State of the State Address today.  She talks about her future plans to support local businesses, public education, and more.  Listen to the first speech below.

The governor starts her speech by remembering those we’ve lost due to COVID-19 and the way everyone’s lives have changed so drastically.  She also mentioned all the work essential workers and the community has done together to flatten the curve and protect everyone.

She stated that Michigan has distributed over 800,000 vaccines, making Michigan 6th in the nation.  Her Michigan Covid Recovery Plan includes distributing vaccines, getting children back in schools, and supporting small businesses to boost the economy.  Her plan includes a permanent extension on unemployment plans and gives support and resources to small businesses even after the pandemic is over.
