
Marquette, MI – February 9, 2021 – The National Weather Service says a Wind Chill advisory remains in effect for the central U.P. until 1:00 o’clock this afternoon. Sub-zero temperatures and continuing winds are creating dangerous wind chills as low as 40 below zero in some areas.
The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. The weather service says very cold air will remain over the area through this weekend.
Several area school districts had already scheduled remote learning days for today, but the dangerous wind chills have resulted in some school closing for the day in our region. Here’s our latest closure list:
