MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan’s Senior U.S. Senator Carl Levin attended and spoke at a panel discussion at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. yesterday on how to balance national defense needs with budget realities.
Senator Levin spoke about balancing the need to reduce the deficit with the need to protect important priorities at home and abroad.
Levin called in to the SUNNY Morning Show today and explained that unless Congress acts by the end of the year, sequestration will mean draconian, across-the-board cuts to important domestic and defense programs.
He offered up some solutions in the conversation, and time will tell if they get implemented.
