NMU Presents World Premiere Of “A Paper Tiger In The Rain”

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Forest Roberts Theatre is presenting the world premiere of the 2014 Panowski Playwriting Prize Winner starting this week on campus.

    “A Paper Tiger in the Rain” written by David Swanson is being presented in the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre in McClintock starting tomorrow.

    Swanson and Rusty Bowers, who is cast in the lead role of Nathan Parker, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to discuss the show and encourage listeners to come to the performances.

    Bowers explained that his character has been promoted to his dream job; Editor-in-Chief of the Willow Falls Beacon Telegraph but soon learns that the newspaper is in financial trouble.

    As the newspaper’s financial picture worsens, Bowers’ character is faced with saving impossible dreams and depending on false promises.

    Swanson talked about the creative process of writing this story and how it improved through the workshopping process on it’s way to the stage.
